It has always been a point of honor for the Daughters of St Paul to be self-supporting, as was our patron and father. Like St Paul, we work hard to provide for our own needs and for the spread of the Gospel. But sometimes our effort alone is not enough to sustain the community or its ministry.

Our high street locations are not simply bookshops: they are missionary outposts where, in the words of Pope Francis, the Church “goes out” from its sacred precincts to meet people where they are. It is an honor for us to be there on the peripheries, ready to extend a welcome to people who come in search of “something the world cannot give.” In these changing times, though, it is becoming more and more difficult for us to meet the expenses involved in keeping that open door open to passers-by.

Your donation to the Daughters of St Paul will help us not simply to continue our mission, but to amplify its reach. Your gift will also help us to provide necessary care and comfort for our elderly sisters, whose joy it is to pray for those who, as St Paul said, “work alongside us for the Gospel.”
