Large wall icon depicting the detail of the face of the Virgin of Tenderness of Vladimir. It is a Byzantine art copy: the original icon of the Mother of God of Tenderness, from which this reproduction is inspired, was painted in Constantinople in the 12th century and is kept in Moscow. Among the most revered Orthodox icons in the world, the Theotókos ("Mother of God" in Greek) is the protector figure of Russia. The image is a fine lithograph glued on wood and finished with gold leaf, while the halos, lettering and borders are handmade. The hook on the back allows you to hang the icon on the wall.
